If you like my work, seeing any of my murals will have added impact by virtue of their sheer size. They tend to be bigger than life and monumental in scale. the color appears to explode off the wall and into your consciousness. Creating a mural is a very personal and wonder filled experience for the collector. It really is amazing to begin with just a wall and a vision and end up with a piece of art that you have watched evolve into a finished tableau. One thing is for sure, it is a magical experience from start to finish for all. |

THE OLIVER GUEST BEDROOM
"Mary Lynn & Bill Oliver have been collecting my work for quite a long time. When they built their home in Santa Fe in 1996, they asked me to paint a mural for them. It took two months to come up with potential concepts and from these they chose the sketch for the "Church at San Isidro".
The mural took five months to complete. The main wall measures 14' x 35' and continues around each corner for 8'. I used acrylics to paint on top of their plastered walls and upon completing the mural it was then sealed".

Looking east from the doorway of the bedroom. At Mary Lynn's suggestion, the furniture in the room was also painted by Tavlos adding continuity and integration to the interior design.

THE PATTERSON WINE CELLAR
The Pattersons of Houston, Texas, Jayne & Wayne, commissioned this mural for the wine cellar of their recently completed home in Santa Fe. They wanted a Tuscan kind of feel to it and so I created a Tuscan Pallazio with it's wine fields in the center and hollyhocks with flowers in the foreground. This mural is called "Tuscan Wine Cellar Mural for the Pattersons" and is 10' x 12'. It took three months to complete.

THE ELEVATOR DOOR
After I completed the Tuscan landscape mural on the north side of their wine cellar, Jayne & Wayne decided to commission me to paint the opposite wall too! The door actually opens to an elevator which connects the wine cellar to the kitchen above. I call this mural "Guadalupe and Hollyhocks", it measures 10' x 12' and it took three weeks to complete.
